I started reading this article Neatorama article on the stories behind Hollywoods Studio logos for the design but I left with a renewed appreciation for the illustrators. The world, pre-computer, was an amazing place… a place i wish i could go visit.
No one paints like this anymore… it’s a refreshing contrast to the predominantly vector world we live in now.

I’m revisiting the Dubai logo I did 3rd quarter. Here is the original
and heres the first revision I’ve made. It’s still a work in progress but I’m hoping to achieve a higher level of sophistication in this mark. What do you think?
I tweaked the bulidings…the type and added a new line. I’m not sold on the new line …but I’m going to sleep on it. I’ll post future revisions as they come. Colors and possibly applications coming soon.
